Roxanne Barber, MA

Affiliate Specialist

Roxanne Barber, MA, Research Analyst & Editor. Ms. Barber has over 30 years experience as a reporter, editor, researcher, and communications specialist. After spending five years as a reporter, she moved to the University of California where for five years she served as an administrative analyst for Lawrence Hall of Science. In this capacity, Ms. Barber was responsible for scheduling the development of multiple education grants for multiple departments where LHS partnered with University departments, most of which focused on Science Technology Engineering & Math (STEM) initiatives of national scope. Ms. Barber edited proposals to ensure consistency with funder, LHS, and University priorities and reviewed all proposals being submitted for accuracy, responsiveness and completeness. In 1995, Ms. Barber moved to the National Writing Project, a national non-profit research, planning, and professional development organization promoting excellence in K-12 instruction in writing. She quickly moved to assume the role of Communications Director, serving on the Executive Management Team, designing and developing multiple national research reports and directing all national communication strategies with hundreds of NWP chapters and with Congress. Joining G&A in 2010, she has provided coordination, assembly and editorial support for multiple grant projects and has conducted extensive research in sector workforce trends and economic indicators related to Linked Learning initiatives and evidence-based practices in school-based mental health.
