Strategies for Effective Organizations(SEO) has been used with:


  • Elementary School Principals. SEO one-on-one coaching sessions are used to introduce principals to a comprehensive system of efficiency tools and practices customized for elementary school principals.   • Community Development Programs. SEO evaluation, research and coaching support were used to reform the city of Oakland’s public-benefit commercial Leading Program.

  • Child Development Programs. SEO coaching is being used to develop and implement an accountability system for a network of early childhood education programs.
  • Workforce Development Programs. SEO assessment, facilitation and research were used to develop performance measures and accountability systems for a WIB.

  • Grant Givers. SEO was used to reform the city of Oakland’s CDBG grant-giving practices, incorporating outcome-based performances measures and comprehensive evaluation to inform grant review and allocation decisions.

  • Under-performing Public Schools. SEO assessments have been conducted with dozens of low-performing schools and were used to construct practical, research-based reform strategies designed to improve the school culture, clarify roles and responsibilities, implement accountability and, most importantly, improve student outcomes. Coaching support was used to help implement these strategies.

  • Program Managers & Executive Directors. SEO coaching has been used with program managers, associate and assistant superintendents, and area or regional directors to research and develop district-wide practices and policies that encourage efficiency, align resources, and reduce duplication. Coaching support has also helped these managers improve their personal effectiveness, monitor reform initiatives, and manage personal more effectively.
