Ms. Hudson served as a classroom teacher for eight years in elementary and high schools. For the past nine years, Ms. Hudson has coached dozens of schools in seven districts throughout Northern California. She received her master’s degree in education from Harvard Graduate School of Education and her bachelor’s degree in Zoology from the University of California at Berkeley. She recently received her California administrative credential from San Francisco State University. She is very familiar with school reform models, having served at Education Partners as a mentor teacher for a number of reconstituted schools within the San Francisco Unified School District.
During the past nine years while at Education Partners and G&A, she worked as an external evaluator and state monitor in 31 schools, supporting the development and implementation of Action Plans to improve student achievement. Ms. Hudson has also worked as an evaluator of various state and federal initiatives, such as Reading First (Pittsburg Unified), California Math and Science Partnership (San Francisco Unified), and Comprehensive School Reform (San Francisco Unified). Ms. Hudson has had excellent success in working with underperfoming schools.
Ms. Hudson joined G&A in September 2001 and in the first year of II/USP program implementation, 100% of her elementary schools exceeded their API growth targets. Two schools made growth of over 100 points in just one year. Ms. Hudson is an approved California Department of Education (CDE) external evaluator and lead for conducting SAIT academic audits. She is currently the lead auditor for three San Francisco middle schools and is a team member for two elementary school audits in West Contra Costa Unified School District. As a SAIT provider, Ms. Hudson has assisted schools and districts with targeting support and resources to address student needs through structured curricular planning meetings, protocols for data analysis, identifying content experts for classroom coaching of teachers, and working with administrators to provide more focused leadership.
