Rachael Berger, M.P.P.
Associate
Ms. Berger has over ten years of experience in the field of education reform in both teaching and research. She received her master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of California, Los Angeles and holds a BA in Political Science from the University of California, Davis.
Prior to arriving at Gibson & Associates, Ms. Berger taught English, History and Humanities at socioeconomically diverse schools in both Oakland and Antioch Unified School Districts. As a teacher, Ms. Berger contributed to the development and implementation of multiple service-learning programs including, the “Museum of Tolerance Program,” a 5-day learning experience in Los Angeles that provides students with a hands-on analysis the history of intolerance and human rights.
Prior to teaching, Ms. Berger spent six years in the field of education research. She has worked with the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Educational Research Improvement to provide analytical and technical support for its comprehensive school reform research evaluation and design program. Ms. Berger has co-authored multiple studies for the National Center for Education Statistics including, “Beyond Nine-to-Five: The Diversity of Employment Among Recent College Graduates,” and “College Persistence on the Rise? Changes in 5-Year Degree Completion and Postsecondary Persistence Rates.”
Ms. Berger has also participated in the development and implementation of reading reform programs at schools and school districts throughout California (i.e. Oakland USD, Bakersfield CSD, and Visalia USD).
Ms. Berger joined G&A in August of 2010. As an associate, Ms. Berger works as part of the Education Team.
